I recently went with a friend on a very amateurish photo shoot to the VIRginia International Raceway, located in Southern Virginia between Danville and South Boston. Is has one of the world’s finest road courses. It was a lot of fun and if your interested in that sort of thing check it out

Wordle.net – Make Images From Keywords

Wordle is a great service which will take an RSS feed from your site (or anybody else’s site) and convert it to an image.  Larger words are found more often, smaller words are found less.

Here are a couple of examples.

From our very own blog (http://www.merrellgroup.com/blog/feed/):

And from my personal site (http://www.joshuarcraig.net/feed/):

High speed photography

Q: Who likes high speed photography?
A: Everyone.
You could look it up, or just take my word for it.
I took a few hours to dabble in the high speed arts.
And I think that we can agree that the results are pretty stunning.
Using a $15 fish tank and some elbow grease I got some amazing results.
Check out more on Flickr or just watch this space, I’m sure there’s more high speed photos to come.
Fruit is the obvious object of choice, but I’m looking for something different.
Anyone have any ideas?
Anyone?
Bueller?

The Rat Pack vs. The Devil for Control of the Strip

The Rat Pack vs. The Devil for Control of the Strip

Does the Stimulus Package or Jihad have you feeling blue? Then why not hearken back to sunnier times like when La Casa Nostra ruled Vegas and brought us great acts like the Rat Pack. Smoking, drinking, gambling and battling Old Nick – it doesn’t get much better than that. I purchased a print from Bob Lizarraga last year for my dad’s birthday. I really like his style. I’m thinking of ordering a different print for my brother (either Gomez or Grandpa) next week. The selection is a little less than what was there last year but he still has some great stuff. Check out the site if you can.

Rock On

Kevin Corfield

Ahh, the quest for just the right piece of original music is always a bit challenging. And original music doesn’t get any more disturbingly original than Jonathan Mann’s music. Every day, he posts a new song to his site rockcookiebottom.com. He’s up to #82 with sure to never be hits like “Penguins Having a Party,” “Zombie Rights” and “I Love Battlestar Galactica.” Check it out.
