Social Fresh: Social Media's Business Implications Take Spotlight

Monday about 230 people came together at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Charlotte, NC for the Social Fresh conference. The event brought in attendees from across the U.S. including representatives from major corporations such as Wal-Mart, Bank of America, and Rubbermaid. The day was jam packed with great speakers and panels far too many to mention in my recap. However, I have some great video and reaction from the event to share.

I moderated the B2B Social Media panel which I will post a complete video of in an upcoming post.

The day kicked off with a presentation from Keith Burtis who discussed his experience as community manager for Best Buy’s Remix. His presentation was very well received and I have embed his slides below:

Another speaker from the morning was Greg Cangialosi, CEO of Blue Sky Factory, his presentation because of his background as the the leader of and e-mail service provider obviously focused on e-mail’s role in the social web. I few of his key ideas were:

- Publishing is marketing 2.0
- Creating content is the challenge in marketing 2.0
- Every organization needs an internal champion
- E-mail is a key driver of social content
- E-mail is the currency of all accounts, meaning you can do anything on the social web with out an e-mail address

The event’s keynote speaker was David Armano, who talked about Social Business Design, a consulting approach that helps companies change their operations for today’s communication world.

I was able to get a clip of David’s presentation and I have embed his slides below:

The day was filled with great speakers. However, it seemed that Olivier Blanchard stole the show with his presentation on Social Media ROI. I recorded the entire presentation, I recommend taking about 30 minutes to watch it. His slides are also embed below.

Congrats to Jason and the Social Fresh team on a great event!
