Ready for awesome? OK Go!
I’ve been attending the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco for the last week, and last night was the official Apple party. The one where almost every developer and Apple engineer here, all 6000 of us, go across the street to the Yerba Buena Gardens, get fed, and listen to a band rock out. Last year they had Cake, the year before it was Barenaked Ladies, but we didn’t know who the band would be until we got there. There were rumors all over the place, but there wasn’t any proof. No lost iPhone with a memo on it revealing the band’s indentity. Nothing. Well, not until people started looking at the stage and discovered a piece of tape on a mic that said enough.
The tape said “OK Go” which confirmed my original predition (the one I made 10 minutes before anyone else in the world, via Twitter).
Oops.
Even though the cat was out of the bag at that point, it was still an awesome show. They rocked out, make some geeky jokes, and were a great end to the week. And even though I can’t hear out of my right ear, it was worth it.
I have a bunch of photos on Flickr, if you’re into that sort of thing. And I managed to get a decent video of their song “A Million Ways” so you can feel like you were there, too (complete with nerd-joke intro).

A little something I whipped up: http://www.merrellgroup.com/blog/2010/06/11/ready-for-awesome-ok-go/ #WWDC

You may have heard all about the #Apple announcements at #wwdc – but what about the music? http://bit.ly/9Sfn2H
