Putting the Social Media into Halloween

As Halloween approaches, some people get the itch. The itch to buy excessive amounts of candy, scavenge for the best decorations and mull over idea after idea for a Halloween costume. Finally, they purchase and fill festive bowls with candy and make a final costume decision.

However, if you are like me, it is the day before Halloween and you still haven’t figured out how to decorate or what to wear. Fortunately, great posts in The Social Path, Examiner.com, and InventorSpot suggest ways to spice up Halloween the social media way.

Look familiar? That’s right; it is a pumpkin carving of the Twitter Fail Whale. This was one of many pumpkin-carvings from Examiner.com.

Here are some of my own suggestions (and challenges) for social media-savvy pumpkin carvers out there: I’d love to see the Twitter bird, the Hootsuite owl, or even Mark Zuckerberg’s mug on a pumpkin.

Need a neat social media costume suggestion? What about a social demographic (be yourself), Facebook Wall, or – my favorite -  keep a tally of how many people are in a room and represent like Radian6. Get more info on these costume ideas from The Social Path and Inventor Spot.
