Celebrate Agriculture with Butterball This Holiday Season
The holiday season – or Fresh Season as Butterball refers to it – is undeniably the busiest time of year for our client Butterball. In addition to local celebrations and activities, including the Ozark and Huntsville, Ark. Millionth Bird celebrations and Garner, N.C. elementary schools art contest, the HM&P public relations team worked with Butterball to unveil a new campaign this year – Celebrate Agriculture – which aims to promote awareness of the important role agriculture plays in American life.
This fall, Butterball partnered with Weekly Reader to develop an educational program designed to teach elementary students about responsible agriculture and farming practices. Launched in late October, the Celebrate Agriculture program hit nearly 30,000 classrooms across the country. Developed for students in grades three through six, the program included math, nutrition and science activities, as well as a teacher’s guide with step-by-step instructions for incorporating the program into their lesson plans.
In addition to the Weekly Reader program, Butterball launched a new Celebrate Agriculture feature on its website where visitors can download PDFs of the program materials as well as other educational presentations of four key areas central to Butterball – Environment, Care and Well-Being, Nutrition and Health and Food Safety.
