Victoria’s Secret Knows QR Codes
There is much talk about QR codes – a novel new way to prompt audience interaction with an advertiser’s message. However, in the rush to embrace the novelty of the new technique, many marketers are forgetting the basics of successful communications, namely of the importance to grab the consumer’s attention, to integrate the message (in other words – to incorporate communication elements so that they work together) and to reward the consumer for the effort of interacting with the message.
One marketer who hasn’t overlooked those basics is Victoria’s Secret. Perhaps I am prejudiced (since I’m a guy and tend to respond with interest to almost anything Victoria’s Secret does) but – these two outdoor signs represent about the best usage of QR codes that I have seen.
